It’s decently challenging especially when you get into cutting and welding old pieces of the receiver like on a pps-43. A lot of those open bolt guns sorta suck as closed bolt semi autos and in my honest opinion isn’t worth the time, effort or money. So far I’ve spent over $500 on my pps-43 and still have more parts to go. PPs43 Upper receiver is all welded together, blocking bar welded in place and the huge muzzle break is welded in place. ... I like the welds on this most of all, because the Polish PPS-43 all came in with a super ugly patch over the trunion area. They just could not arsed to weld edge to edge like this. ...
