The manual covers the retract/extend limit switches and shows them for the patio awning and I found those as they are easily visible.What I'm getting at is the same thing Ivy pointed out. Girard awnings use 120V AC power and it sounds like yours are not getting power. The control box for your main awnings is in the front most over head cabinet in the living room passenger slide out.
