Recently I replaced my battery on my 08 silverado it was the original one so it was about time to go, plus the light kept coming on. Well after about 2 days the service battery charging system came back on.When the wire made contact with the bracket it would send the service charging system message. I only had about 4000 miles on the Vette when the problem started. I replaced the worn wire and placed both alternator wires in a loom. I am not sure on your vehicle where the fuse is in the car or under the hood it could also have a relay. You can check your alternator by checking the voltage at the back of the alternator where the big wire bolts on. You should have 14+ volts at the alternator.
