Crossbow Build. Character Build. I am looking into a drow crossbow rogue, thief and or gloom stalker multi-class. For now all I have is the RP idea in my mind of using a crossbow (not sure what type, light, hand or heavy) and have not dug too much into the actual viability of the build. I plan on playing on "balanced" difficulty.That's an option, though all that taking Paladin at level 2 gives you that you really need is Shield Proficiency (and Martial Weapons, which I guess might be useful for Heavy Crossbow / Longbow proficiency, but all the other weapons I think are not finesse-based, except for getting proficiency in Scimitars one level earlier), and compared to taking it a level one, you lose out on the Wis save ...Sword Bard using ranged attacks w/ Sharpshooter is very effective. 2 attacks per inspiration point will have you attacking at a high rate, and there's a ton of damage adds per attack itemization.
