Dailies are for stats from symbols, levels to unlock more node slots and levels to gain FD for being above the bosses level. If you are 10 levels above the boss you gain 20% FD against them, 2% per level above. Also you lose 5% FD for being below the bosses level.

The difference between leveling a NW and NL is remarkable. NW's are better bossers on paper, but are alot of work and there are alot of QoL tradeoffs as forementioned.
