The bosses were just not drilled through into the exhaust ports. I made the parts person at my local Ford place look these up on the computerized microfiche. 1987 - 1996 F150 & Larger F-Series Trucks - Instructions 89 - 96 302 5L Smog/Air Pump Delete! - I know this is small potatoes mechanically to most of us on here. But there really is no step by step on how to do this anywhere on the net.One of the first things I did was pull the pump, do a timing chain, std copper plugs & wires etc, new Flow Cooler water pump & fan delete with the Taurus fan. Difference was night & day. Felt like 25-30 hp & the way the engine revs FREELY without all that mass revolving off it's nose was & is the first thing that jumps out at you.
